How to play Brick

Get rid of every card in your hand and every Brick in front of you before anyone else.

1. Your cards

Each player begins with cards in hand, face-up Bricks, and face-down Bricks. You must empty them in that order: hand first, then face-up, then face-down.

2. Taking a turn

Play one or more cards of the same rank. The rank must match or be higher than the active card on the pile. You may always play a 2 or 10 when the game permits a normal play.

3. When you cannot play

If none of your available cards can legally be played, you pick up the play pile. Your turn ends and those cards return to your hand.

4. Special clears

A 2 resets the playable value and clears the pile. A 10 clears the pile. Four cards of the same rank on top of the pile also clear it. After a clear, the player who caused it plays again and may not choose to pick up the cleared pile.

5. Drawing back up

While the draw deck remains, players refill their hands to the required hand size after completing a legal play. Exact setup values are shown inside the game for the selected mode.

6. Face-up Bricks

Once your hand is empty and the draw deck is gone, play from your face-up Bricks. A legal matching or higher card may be played as a single card; matching pairs are not required.

7. Face-down Bricks

After all face-up Bricks are gone, choose a face-down Brick without seeing it first. If it is legal, it is played. If it is not legal, you pick up the pile along with that card.

8. Winning

You win when you have legally played your final card. If that final card is a 2, 10, or completes four of a kind, the clear resolves and you still win.

Rules still being finalized for launch
